Sithembiso Ngema a été élu nouveau chef provincial de l'Alliance démocratique au KwaZulu-Natal lors du congrès provincial du parti qui s'est tenu à Durban. Ngema remplace le chef sortant Francois Rodgers. Il a précédemment occupé les fonctions de chef provincial adjoint et de membre de l'Alliance démocratique au sein de la municipalité d'eThekwini. Ngema a prêté serment en tant que membre de la législature du KwaZulu-Natal le 28 septembre 2023. Dean Macpherson a été réélu président provincial. Martin Meyer a été élu chef provincial adjoint. Le parti a également élu Sandile Mnikathi en tant que premier vice-président, Sakhile Mngadi en tant que deuxième vice-président et Swelakhe Shelembe en tant que troisième vice-président.
