The Michoacán Festival at Los Pinos will feature traditional cuisine, crafts, and dances from the state on April 11 and 12, 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00 at the Complejo Cultural Los Pinos in Mexico City's Bosque de Chapultepec. The event is part of the Plan Michoacán por la Paz y la Justicia. Claudia Curiel de Icaza, Mexico's Culture Secretary, emphasized its role in promoting community knowledge.
The Michoacán Festival at Los Pinos will occur on April 11 and 12, 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00. Activities are spread across spaces like Plaza Jacarandas, Tejaban de Cencalli, and Cocinas de Humo. It is part of the Plan Michoacán por la Paz y la Justicia, aimed at boosting product commercialization and cultural practices.
Claudia Curiel de Icaza, Culture Secretary of the Mexican Government, stated: “Reunir artesanía, cocina tradicional y música en Los Pinos es también una forma de reconocer a las comunidades portadoras de estos saberes y de seguir construyendo vínculos entre cultura, bienestar y cohesión social, para avanzar en los objetivos del Plan Michoacán por la Paz y la Justicia”.
The culinary offerings include Morelia-style carnitas michoacanas, Morelia uchepos, pork spine in guajillo, dried beef aporreado, various tamales, quesadillas, and churipo, prepared by traditional cooks.
Crafts and regional products feature Tacámbaro nieves, rompope, Tzintzuntzan pottery, Salvador Escalante copper pieces, berries, salsas, and sweets like zamorano chongos. Claudio Méndez Fernández, Michoacán's Economic Development Secretary, noted: “Los productos michoacanos que se presentan en el Complejo Cultural Los Pinos reflejan calidad y capacidad productiva, abren mercado y son motor estratégico de desarrollo para nuestras comunidades”.
Artistic performances include Los Tlahualiles de Sahuayo, the Estado de Michoacán Folkloric Ballet, and Dueto Sïrankua with Purépecha music. The venue is at Avenida Molino del Rey 252, near Constituyentes Metro station and Cablebús.
