Ethiopia's National Dialogue Commission is holding discussions with returnees from armed struggle in the Amhara region. The three-day talks in Addis Ababa involve around 200 participants.
Commission chief Mesfin Araya said the returnees submitted 17 regional and national agendas to the commission. These cover questions raised in earlier talks.
The returnees recalled operating by force before choosing peace and said becoming heroes of peace is better. The platform helps bring remaining groups into the peace process, they added.
The commission will continue efforts to include armed actors from other areas in the dialogue. Participants stressed that dialogue is the only way to resolve differences.
