The parents of Ching Ching, a 13-year-old girl in critical condition, have issued a public appeal for a heart and lung transplant. The family seeks a miracle donation to fulfill her wish to return home.
The parents of Ching Ching published a letter on Friday calling on families who have recently lost loved ones to consider organ donation. Their daughter suffers from pulmonary hypertension and heart failure.
Ching Ching is being treated at Hong Kong Children’s Hospital in Kowloon City. She is supported by an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine, also known as an artificial heart-lung machine.
She has undergone five operations within eight days, including two that each lasted more than 12 hours. The girl has expressed fear that she will not be able to go home.
