The 67-year-old singer was indicted for rape, attempted rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment involving nine alleged victims between 2010 and 2019. He walked free from the Nanterre court on Wednesday evening.
Patrick Bruel was placed under judicial supervision after his indictment on Wednesday evening at the Nanterre court. The prosecution had requested provisional detention, but the judge rejected the measure. One of his lawyers, Fanny Colin, confirmed his release. The singer is indicted in four cases and is an assisted witness in four other files. One additional case was dismissed due to prescription. A judicial investigation covers incidents between 2010 and 2019 in several cities including Grenoble, Brussels, Neuilly-sur-Seine, Dinard, L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Paris, Perpignan, Ajaccio and Nyon. Patrick Bruel contests all the accusations. Thirteen other procedures involving incidents between 1992 and 2008 were joined to check prescription.
