Seven-Eleven Japan has established a joint venture with Dentsu Group Inc. and CyberAgent Inc. to run digital advertising in its stores using purchase data.
The new company, named Seven-Eleven Ad Connect, was announced on June 11. It plans to deliver targeted ads on digital signage inside Seven-Eleven Japan convenience stores.
The system will use customer purchase information to select which advertisements to show. Dentsu Group Inc. and CyberAgent Inc. are the other partners in the venture.
The joint venture aims to expand digital advertising opportunities within the retail chain's network of stores.
