Tesla has begun deploying Full Self-Driving (FSD) version 14.1.7, bundled with software update 2025.38.8.7, to Cybertruck units and Hardware 4-equipped Model S, 3, X, and Y vehicles in the US and Canada. This update expands access beyond early testers and merges FSD branches across models. It includes refinements to driving behavior without major new features.
Tesla initiated the rollout of FSD v14.1.7 on November 13, 2025, targeting Cybertruck owners and HW4 (AI4) vehicles in the US and Canada. Previously, Cybertruck FSD was limited to v14.1.5 for a handful of influencers and early beta testers, while other HW4 models ran v14.1.4. The update merges these into a single branch under firmware 2025.38.8.7, making it available to a broader group, though not a full wide release.
According to tracking data from TeslaFi.com, more than 200 Cybertrucks had installed the update or were queued for download within eight hours of deployment. Influencers and some general owners reported receiving it, with one Cybertruck owner sharing initial impressions on X: "First v14 ride in the Cybertruck went well. 👍🏻 Mad Max mode is legit. Touchscreen to start FSD works great. It backed out of my garage, drove me to a taco place, and parked without me ever touching the wheel. 📐"
Early users of Model Y and other HW4 vehicles noted smoother performance compared to v14.1.4, with improved comfort in complex scenarios and less aggressive highway driving in Mad Max mode. The update skips v14.1.5 and v14.1.6 for non-employee vehicles, focusing on bug fixes and reliability enhancements.
Official release notes highlight additions like Arrival Options for parking preferences (Parking Lot, Street, Driveway, Parking Garage, or Curbside), handling for emergency vehicles, vision-based navigation for blocked roads, an additional speed profile, improved gate and debris management, better scenario handling for turns, lane changes, cut-ins, and school buses, fault recovery, and alerts for windshield residue.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk indicated that persistent issues like stuttering at intersections will be addressed in v14.2, expected in a month or more, which promises a wide release and enhanced smoothness. Meanwhile, HW3 vehicles and some Cybertrucks receive update 2025.38.9, skipping FSD v14 entirely. Non-FSD and global fleets are excluded from this point release.
This deployment aligns with Tesla's ongoing refinements to FSD Supervised, building toward broader autonomy while incorporating features from the 2025.38 branch, such as 3D buildings in navigation and Tron Mode.
