950 bærplukkere får tilladelse til at rejse ind i Sverige i år

Det svenske migrationsagentur har givet arbejdstilladelser til 950 bærplukkere, der skal arbejde i Sverige i år. Dette markerer en markant stigning fra sidste år, hvor kun 89 personer modtog tilladelser.

De fleste af de godkendte bærplukkere kommer fra Thailand. Agenturet havde tidligere afvist mange ansøgninger på grund af dårlige forhold i branchen.

Merima Ilijasevic, sektionschef hos migrationsagenturet, udtaler, at flere arbejdsgivere nu har dokumenteret, at de kan tilbyde ordentlige arbejdsforhold. Derfor besluttede agenturet at godkende ansøgningerne.

Som følge af en regeringsbeslutning falder bærplukkerne nu under EU's direktiv om sæsonarbejde. De skal være ansat direkte af en svensk virksomhed frem for af thailandske vikarbureauer.
