The game director of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 has shared new details on customization options, lore accuracy, and the shift to four-player co-op. Cold Iron Studios collaborated closely with 20th Century Studios on the project.
Chris Cross, game director at Cold Iron Studios, said the sequel will include massive amounts of customization across all classes. This includes a brand-new endgame Specialist class.
"There's almost an infinite amount of ways to coordinate with your buds on how you want to kit up as a group," Cross stated.
The studio worked very closely with 20th Century Studios to ensure the game hit the Alien franchise lore correctly. Making the game four-player co-op presents a challenge due to four times the amount of things that need to be put on screen. However, Cross noted that it works better in a PVE game.
