A Minnesota man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly attacking his wife with a hammer on May 11. An Amazon delivery driver interrupted the incident by calling police and confronting the suspect.
James Alan Johnson, 72, faces one count each of attempted first-degree murder and assault with a dangerous weapon, according to the Chisago County Sheriff's Office. The events unfolded at the couple's home on Heims Lake Circle in Wyoming, about 30 miles northwest of Minneapolis. Police responded after the driver reported hearing screams and seeing a woman covered in blood with a man holding a hammer.
