A performance audit has revealed that 22 airports operated by the Ethiopian Airlines Group lack master plans. Some also operate without land-use plans or title deeds.
The audit was conducted by the Office of the Auditor General and examined airport infrastructure along with non-aeronautical revenue for the 2024/25 fiscal year.
It noted that planning and safety measures have not kept pace with the group's network expansion efforts.
The findings were reported by staff writer Nahom Ayele on July 19, 2026.
