Fourth train arrives from China for Bogotá Metro Line 1 tests

The fourth train for Bogotá's Metro Line 1 has arrived at the Bosa workshop from Quingdao, China, following the start of dynamic tests on the first three trains. Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán announced the milestone, noting steady progress toward 90% completion by end-2026 and ongoing deliveries every 15 days until October.

Building on the dynamic tests already underway for the first three Bogotá Metro Line 1 trains at the Bosa workshop, the fourth train arrived in the early hours of Saturday from Quingdao, China—where it departed on December 3—after a journey of over a month.

Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán shared the update on his X account: "The Bogotá Metro keeps advancing: this morning, the fourth train for Line 1 arrived in our city... already at the Bosa workshop, where it will soon start tests."

As of late 2025, the project reached 70.72% completion, propelled by the first 10 kilometers of viaduct construction. Officials project 90% by year-end 2026, coinciding with dynamic tests for incoming trains. Deliveries will continue every 15 days through October, building toward a fleet of 30.

In December, Galán secured US$1,060 million in loans from the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank to fund 2026 advances, reinforcing commitments to sustainable mobility in Colombia's capital.
