Bryson DeChambeau posted a 34-minute video on YouTube to detail his performance issues after missing the cut at the 2026 U.S. Open.
DeChambeau missed the cut at Shinnecock Hills with rounds of 70 and 75, finishing five over par and one shot short of the weekend. The two-time U.S. Open champion has now missed the cut in all three majors in 2026.
In the video, he reviewed every shot from his two rounds and pointed to problems with his wedges, swing timing and putting speed. "I’ve been working incredibly hard, and sometimes it just doesn’t pan out," DeChambeau said.
He described feeling "a little funky" with his swing on Friday morning and making two straight double bogeys early in the second round that ended his tournament. DeChambeau said he and his team have not yet "cracked the code" on recreating the form that produced a 58 at LIV Greenbrier in 2023.
His next opportunity to avoid missing all four major cuts in 2026 will come at the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
