Cali regulates access to tutelary hills on Holy Thursday and Good Friday

Cali authorities will enforce controlled access hours from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to hills such as Tres Cruces, Virgen de Yanaconas and Cristo Rey on Holy Thursday and Good Friday of Holy Week 2026. The measure aims to manage visitor flow and ensure safety. Unified Command Posts will activate at key sites.

Access to Cali's tutelary hills, popular during Holy Week, will be restricted to a specific time slot to prevent overcrowding. For Cerro de las Tres Cruces, entry will be organized via the Chipichape sector with institutional support and constant monitoring.

Unified Command Posts (PMU) will be set up at Pance, Cristo Rey, Virgen de Yanaconas and Cerro de las Tres Cruces to coordinate emergency responses. Officials anticipate higher attendance those days and will bolster services.

Nicolás Suárez, Cali's subsecretary for Risk Management, stated: “For us, it is essential that locals and visitors enjoy Holy Week safely. Therefore, we will have Unified Command Posts (PMU) at Pance, Cristo Rey, Virgen de Yanaconas and Cerro de las Tres Cruces. It is important to highlight that minors under 17 must be accompanied by parents or responsible adults and also have a card with contact details that rescue organizations will verify”.

Recommendations include avoiding entry with pets, carrying identification documents, following staff instructions, and ensuring minors carry cards with contact information.
