Cali's Secretaría de Movilidad announced that a new Pico y Placa rotation for private vehicles will take effect on July 1 to improve mobility in the city.
The measure will apply Monday to Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Plates ending in 9 and 0 will be restricted on Mondays; those ending in 1 and 2 on Tuesdays; 3 and 4 on Wednesdays; 5 and 6 on Thursdays; and 7 and 8 on Fridays.
Vehicles with plates ending in 3 and 4 will face the restriction on two consecutive days during the transition: Tuesday, June 30 under the previous scheme and Wednesday, July 1 under the new rotation.
The Secretaría de Movilidad said the goal is to distribute vehicle circulation more efficiently in a city with more than one million registered vehicles, of which about 520,000 are private cars. Authorities recommend that drivers check their plates and plan trips in advance.
