Cantaor, exceptional bull from Victoriano del Río, receives lap of honor at Las Ventas

The bull Cantaor from Victoriano del Río's ranch stood out in the May 22 bullfight at Las Ventas during the San Isidro Fair. Sebastián Castella fought the animal in fourth place and the bull received a lap of honor for its bravery.

Cantaor, number 79, black ribbon and weighing 572 kilos, born in Madrid in November 2020, showed bravery and nobility in the muleta tercio. The animal galloped to meet the bullfighter and allowed series of long and deep passes that filled the plaza with applause.

Sebastián Castella performed a clean and linked performance, but failed on the sword thrust with a puncture and several descabellos. The president awarded the bull a lap of honor and Castella gave it a farewell kiss.

The other bulls from Victoriano del Río were uneven. Emilio de Justo and Tomás Rufo did not achieve standout triumphs in their respective fights. The plaza registered a full house with 22,964 spectators.
