CD Projekt Red announced that its new gaming franchise, codenamed Hadar, has reached a key milestone with foundations established. Joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski shared the update during an annual earnings call to investors. The team is now prototyping elements in Unreal Engine.
During an annual earnings call, CD Projekt Red's joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski provided an update on the company's third franchise, Hadar. He stated, 'Work on the project is progressing dynamically, and the team has established the foundations of this entirely new IP. Now, we have clearly defined distinguishing features of this world, and established key pillars that will not only provide the foundation for the game itself, but also, potentially, for other future products.' Nowakowski added that development continues, with the team designing specific elements and creating prototypes implemented directly in Unreal Engine to test mechanics and gameplay. A chart from the company indicated 26 staff members assigned to Hadar as of late February. CD Projekt Red first revealed Hadar in autumn 2022, followed by limited updates, including a small team developing concepts in 2023 and a more detailed vision reported a year prior. The codename derives from a star, consistent with naming conventions like Orion for Cyberpunk 2. No further details on the project's setting or genre were disclosed.
