Dashia Rocío, a 19-year-old from the State of Mexico, denounced her father for attempted sexual abuse and was arrested for alleged extortion linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. Following intervention by the Secretariat of Women, led by Citlalli Hernández, her precautionary measure was changed so she can continue the process in freedom. The family accuses the father of fabricating the charges.
Dashia Rocío, 19 years old and residing in the State of Mexico, reunited with her father after a DNA test confirmed his paternity. Soon after, in December, she denounced that he attempted to sexually abuse her: on one occasion he touched her without consent while she slept, and on another he gave her clonazepam to facilitate it, though she resisted. She returned to her mother, Marisol, and rejected the father's offers to reconcile, such as paying for her studies and buying her a car.
On December 26, Dashia went to a car dealership with her grandmother, expecting to receive the promised vehicle, but was arrested by 10 agents under an order for extortion, based on an anonymous complaint linking her to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. She was taken to the Social Reintegration Center of San Pedro Barrientos in Tlalnepantla, where she reported sleeping on the floor, going hungry, and feeling cold. The family reported irregularities and sought help from the Human Rights Commission, which opened file 250/2025.
Marisol's story in the media caught the attention of Citlalli Hernández, head of the Secretariat of Women, who met with her on December 11 and maintained dialogues with the family and authorities in the State of Mexico. This Sunday, Hernández announced that an injustice was corrected by changing the precautionary measure, allowing Dashia to defend her innocence in freedom. Dashia's grandmother thanked Hernández's support and the Machos Collective, mentioning Karina. Although the process remains open, Dashia has returned to her family.
