Two bills aimed at improving business regulations and ensuring timely public services in Delhi are scheduled for introduction during the Monsoon Session of the Assembly from August 7 to 11.
The Delhi Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2026 and the Delhi (Right of Citizen to Time Bound and Ease of Delivery of Service) Bill, 2026 are expected to be tabled, according to sources. Lieutenant-Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reviewed efforts to reduce regulatory burdens on Wednesday.
The second bill, already approved by the Cabinet, would replace the 2011 Act and impose fines of ₹250 per day up to a maximum of ₹5,000 on officials for unjustified delays. The first bill is set for Cabinet clearance within a week.
The Aam Aadmi Party has urged Speaker Vijender Gupta to include Question Hour in the session. Party chief whip Sanjeev Jha stated that without it the session serves little purpose and called for scrutiny of government departments.
