Domino's driver charged with assaulting customer over tip in Missouri

A 35-year-old Domino's delivery driver in Missouri allegedly struck a customer with his car during a dispute over a missing tip. Zachary Nicholos Walton faces charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and leaving the scene of an accident. He was arrested Wednesday and is detained without bond.

Zachary Nicholos Walton, a Domino's delivery driver, was taken into custody on Wednesday following a crash reported around 7:20 p.m. on the 500 block of Bluff Street in Fulton, Missouri. Officers responded to a call about a driver who had become upset and hit an individual with his vehicle before fleeing, according to a probable cause affidavit from the Fulton Police Department. The incident occurred about 165 miles east of Kansas City, where the victim suffered visible hand injuries and pain in his shin after being struck and landing on another car's hood. A witness was present during the altercation. Security footage captured Walton yelling profanities at the victim and witness, calling them 'f—ing rude' and taunting, 'What are you going to do, b—? Come get me,' as he returned to his vehicle. The video showed him reversing, then accelerating forward toward the victim, who was walking up the driveway and not blocking the path. The victim stated Walton was upset over not receiving a tip, leading to a verbal argument that escalated. Police located Walton at a local Domino's, where he admitted driving toward the victim to 'scare him' and acknowledged leaving the scene at high speed. Walton has a prior conviction in Callaway County for domestic assault and false imprisonment. Authorities cited the use of a vehicle and his flight as risks to the victim and community. He remains held without bond in Callaway County Jail, with no immediate court date announced.
