Driver hits youths on motorcycle, flees and is captured

A driver was captured after hitting two youths on a motorcycle in the municipality of Pitalito. The incident occurred in front of the Rumbabú discotheque.

The events took place on the previous Friday night. The driver, apparently in a state of intoxication, struck the youths and fled toward Timaná.

Damage to the vehicle prevented it from going far. This allowed police units to pursue and capture him.

The youths were aided and taken to a medical center. There they received treatment and are recovering from their injuries.

Relatives called for justice. “We ask for justice for my nephews and more awareness on the roads,” said Lorena Claros Trujillo, the youths’ aunt, on Facebook.
