On Tuesday, Egypt's Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with executives from Curagita Group and ACH to discuss investment opportunities and cooperation in the healthcare sector, with a primary focus on upgrading the radiology department at the Nile Medical City project, according to a ministry statement.
Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the meeting reviewed existing cooperation frameworks and future plans, alongside presentations on the groups' key healthcare projects to strengthen partnerships and improve Egypt's health system.
Discussions covered a strategic plan to develop the radiology department into a leading unit by establishing new service standards, as well as requirements for equipment, infrastructure, financial considerations, and supporting systems. Officials also examined the current setup and future vision, including expected beneficiary volumes, departments, and planned device types.
The meeting included a detailed inventory of imaging devices in the existing building, the oncology building, and the new outpatient clinics building, covering device types, manufacturers, models, and serial numbers. A proposed work plan was presented, emphasizing workforce development, patient-flow optimization, infrastructure upgrades, and integration of modern technologies.
The parties discussed redesigning patient pathways, architectural planning for an optimal care environment, technology integration, an implementation roadmap, future opportunities, and proposed partnership terms, including training programs for medical and technical staff specializing in radiology.
Abdel Ghaffar stressed the importance of a long-term implementation plan that accounts for future needs and ensures sustainable service quality and efficient patient flow, the ministry said.
