In a move to expand Egypt's international partnerships, Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, held talks with Gevorg Papoyan, Armenia's Minister of Economy, and his delegation. The meeting, attended by Mostafa El-Sayyad, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, focused on mechanisms to boost joint agricultural investments, increase private-sector involvement, and strengthen business community ties between the two nations.
Key discussion areas included seed production, land reclamation, and efficient water use. Farouk emphasized the need to encourage reciprocal visits by investors and business leaders, as well as to organize investment forums and specialized workshops to pinpoint viable opportunities. He reviewed Egypt's major national agricultural projects and highlighted prospects for joint ventures leveraging modern irrigation systems and advanced farming technologies.
The minister highlighted the strong global reputation of Egyptian agricultural products, reaffirming Egypt's willingness to supply Armenia with strategic commodities, fruits, and vegetables. Both sides also explored enhanced cooperation in training and capacity-building for agricultural technicians through specialized research centers in Egypt and Armenia.
Papoyan, for his part, commended the advancements in Egypt's agricultural sector and expressed Armenia's interest in deepening economic ties, drawing on Egypt's expertise in land reclamation and water management to advance mutual interests.
