ESPN analyst doubts Steelers offense will get more explosive

ESPN analyst Kevin Clark stated on NFL Live that the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense is unlikely to produce more explosive plays this season despite offseason additions.

Clark attributed last season's low output to quarterback Aaron Rodgers' quick-release approach rather than scheme under former coordinator Arthur Smith.

The Steelers acquired wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. via trade and drafted Germie Bernard and Kaden Wetjen. Bernard is expected to contribute significantly as a rookie.

Last year the team recorded just 41 explosive plays, ranking near the bottom of the NFL. Clark noted the reliance on yards after catch and said new play-caller Mike McCarthy could alter that dynamic.

He added that the additions of Pittman Jr. and the rookies, along with an improved offensive line, should help, but he does not anticipate a major increase in big plays.
