Filipinos show highest confidence in Trump in global poll

A new Pew Research Center survey found that 68% of adults in the Philippines expressed confidence in U.S. President Donald Trump, the highest among 36 countries polled.

The report, released June 23, showed a global median confidence rating of just 23% for Trump, with 76% expressing no confidence. In the Philippines, 56% viewed the United States favorably.

Filipinos stood out in other areas as well. Pew found that 77% said the U.S. contributes to peace and stability worldwide, while 74% believed Washington considers other countries' interests in foreign policy. Additionally, 66% approved of Trump's handling of international humanitarian aid.

These results align with Pew's earlier 2024 findings, where the Philippines ranked among the more pro-U.S. publics. That survey recorded 74% favorable views of the U.S. and 77% confidence in then-President Joe Biden.
