This event marks the start of his first full season in the category, following participation in preseason tests in Barcelona and Bahrain, where he worked on the simulator and analyzed data in Enstone.
One of the standout details is the design of his helmet, which fuses the Argentine flag with Alpine's colors of pink, red, blue, and white. Colapinto expressed his enthusiasm in statements to the team's official site: "Tengo muchas ganas de salir a la pista en Melbourne y comenzar el nuevo calendario" ("I am really looking forward to hitting the track in Melbourne and starting the new calendar"). This is his third season in Formula 1, but the first from the preseason onward.
Hours before the debut, Colapinto showed a nod to Boca Juniors, the Argentine football club known as Xeneize, which did not go unnoticed. The official Formula 1 account posted a highlight about his expectation, based on his strong preseason performances.
Pierre Gasly, his teammate, revealed an ambitious goal for Alpine this season, expressing optimism after the tests. The schedule, adjusted to Argentine time zone, includes:

- Friday, March 6: Free Practice 2 at 2:00 and Free Practice 3 at 22:30.
