Several fuel providers in Indonesia, including Pertamina, Shell, BP, and Vivo, simultaneously lowered non-subsidized BBM prices starting January 1, 2026. The adjustment follows the government formula and global oil price trends. Subsidized BBM prices remain unchanged.

On January 1, 2026, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Pertamina's Commercial & Trading subholding, announced a price reduction for non-subsidized BBM in the DKI Jakarta area. Pertamax price dropped to Rp12.350 per liter from Rp12.750 in December 2025. Pertamax Turbo fell to Rp13.400 from Rp13.750, Pertamax Green 95 to Rp13.150 from Rp13.500, Dexlite to Rp13.500 from Rp14.700, and Pertamina Dex to Rp13.600 from Rp15.000 per liter.

Subsidized BBM prices, such as Pertalite (RON 90) at Rp10.000 per liter and Solar Subsidi at Rp6.800 per liter, remain unchanged. Pertamina Patra Niaga's Corporate Secretary, Robert Dumatubun, stated, “We conduct these price adjustments periodically and continue to position Pertamax Series and Dex Series prices as the most competitive.” The adjustments reference the government pricing formula, global oil trends like Argus or Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS), and the rupiah's exchange rate against the US dollar.

Private companies followed suit. Shell reduced Shell Super (RON 92) to Rp12.700 per liter from Rp13.000 in Jakarta, Banten, West Java, and East Java. Shell V-Power (RON 95) is now Rp13.190, V-Power Nitro+ (RON 98) Rp13.480, and V-Power Diesel Rp13.860 per liter. BP-AKR lowered BP 92 to Rp12.500 from Rp13.000, BP Ultimate (RON 95) to Rp13.190, and BP Ultimate Diesel to Rp13.860 per liter in Jabodetabek. Vivo cut Revvo 92 to Rp12.700 from Rp13.000 and Diesel Primus to Rp13.610 from Rp15.520 per liter.

Prices may vary by region based on provincial Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax (PBBKB). In other areas, such as Sumatra, non-subsidized prices are slightly higher, for example, Pertamax Turbo at Rp13.700-Rp14.000 per liter, while in free trade zones like Batam, they are lower. The reduction implements Ministerial Decree ESDM No. 245.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022.

PT Pertamina (Persero) through Pertamina Patra Niaga confirmed no adjustment to fuel (BBM) prices at SPBU starting April 1, 2026, for both subsidized and non-subsidized types. The announcement came on March 31, 2026, amid rising global oil prices due to the Iran-US-Israel conflict. Pertamina urged the public to avoid panic buying and use fuel wisely.

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has supplied 100,000 barrels of fuel oil (BBM) to PT Vivo Energi Indonesia through a business-to-business mechanism. This supply follows directives from Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia to meet the needs of private businesses that exhausted their import quotas. The collaboration aims to maintain national energy resilience and fuel availability for the public.

Shell Super, a non-subsidiary fuel with RON 92, remains available at several Shell stations in Jakarta, Banten, and West Java areas. Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia assures that national BBM supplies are secure ahead of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays. This availability supports vehicle mobility amid distribution dynamics.

As predicted last week, gasoline prices have increased by P0.20 per liter for the third straight week, while diesel and kerosene see a P0.20 per liter rollback effective today.

Escalation of conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran in the Middle East has driven global oil prices above US$100 per barrel, weakening the rupiah to Rp17,000 and sharply dropping the IHSG. The Indonesian government asserts the domestic economy remains in expansion despite risks of inflation and layoffs. Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia guarantees no increase in subsidized fuel prices until Eid.

A slight rollback in diesel prices is expected next week amid renewed hopes for a Ukraine-Russia ceasefire that has eased global supply concerns. Oil industry experts forecast a per-liter cut of P0.10 to P0.30 for diesel and about P0.65 for kerosene.

The Department of Energy stated that March 9 is the final day for capped fuel prices, with adjustments taking effect on March 10. Several gas stations reported supply shortages from the rush of customers. This occurs amid global oil price hikes due to escalating Middle East conflicts.
