Go Woo-suk surrenders home run in MLB debut for Minnesota

Go Woo-suk made his Major League Baseball debut for the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. He surrendered a solo home run in a 5-2 loss to the Cleveland Guardians.

Go Woo-suk entered in the top of the ninth with the Twins trailing 4-2. He retired Daniel Schneemann on a grounder before allowing a 384-foot solo home run to Patrick Bailey on a slider.

Go then struck out Steven Kwan and induced a groundout from Travis Bazzana to finish the inning. He became the 30th South Korean to appear in an MLB game.

Go left the LG Twins in January 2024 to sign with the San Diego Padres. After stints with the Marlins and Tigers, he joined Minnesota via trade earlier in the week to help a bullpen with the worst ERA in MLB.
