Kiwoom Heroes American left-hander Kenny Rosenberg has returned to the KBO as an injury replacement. He arrived in South Korea on May 14 and made his season debut two days later, saying he wants to make the most of his short-term deal while hoping to stay longer.

Rosenberg signed a six-week, US$50,000 contract on April 21 to replace injured pitcher Nathan Wiles. Visa delays meant he only arrived in South Korea on May 14 and debuted two days later, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks in 2 1/3 innings against the NC Dinos.

In an interview at Gocheok Sky Dome, he said, “I love Korea and it’s really nice to be back playing baseball.” He added that his next two starts are set but anything beyond that is out of his hands.

Rosenberg noted that his situation with Wiles is not awkward and both players understand the business side. He also expressed happiness for teammate Kim Woong-bin, who recently hit walk-off hits in back-to-back games.

“I’m really looking forward to these next two,” Rosenberg said. “One way or another, I know I’m going to have more baseball games in my future.”
