Grupo Firme debuts mariachi single 'Cabrón y Medio' on Billboard

Grupo Firme, known for its banda sound, has released its first mariachi track, 'Cabrón y Medio', premiering exclusively on Billboard on April 2. Co-produced by Joss Favela and Ricardo Orrantía, the single features traditional instruments like violins, guitars, vihuela and guitarrón. Vocalist Eduin Caz sings of longing for a lost love amid emotional vulnerability.

The Música Mexicana group steps away from its fast-paced, brass-heavy banda style into the weeping strings of mariachi. Lyrically, the track reflects on a faded romance, with Caz delivering lines like: “What was it that happened to us? It is clear to me that you want nothing to do with me. As for me, I’m still here thinking of you with every breath. ” A press statement describes how drinks blur memories, making the absent lover feel near. The music video, directed by Mane Borja, depicts Caz in a traditional charro suit against scenes of a fractured family. This release arrives as Grupo Firme tours South and Central America on its La Última Peda Tour. It stands as their first solo single of 2026, after collaborations such as “Súfrale” with Gloria Trevi, “Modo Difícil” with Grupo Frontera, “Que Te Quieran Bonito” with Luis Alfonso Partida “El Yaki,” and “Ctrl + Z” with Lenin Ramírez.
