Presenter Henar Álvarez dedicated her Tuesday monologue on Al cielo con ella to the debate on freedom of expression and the limits of censorship in Spain.
Henar Álvarez opened her segment by stating that nothing can be said anymore and noted that those complaining about censorship are not its victims. She cited examples including Stephen Colbert's firing by CBS and an artificial intelligence video shared by Donald Trump.
The comedian also referenced the cases of Facu Díaz and Héctor de Miguel, known as Quequé, who testified in court over comments made on a SER program. With irony she agreed with Pablo Motos and recalled the complaint against her colleague Lalachus for displaying an image on TVE.
Álvarez concluded that the situation is not due to a supposed woke dictatorship and that complaints actually reflect the presence of opposing voices. The program, broadcast on La 1, featured guests including Luis Tosar and achieved an 8.6% audience share.
