The Swiss-Ecuadorian instrumental duo Hermanos Gutiérrez will release their new album Los Ojos del Cóndor on Sept. 25. It marks their third collaboration with producer Dan Auerbach.
The album draws inspiration from the mountains and coasts of Peru, the homeland of the brothers' great-grandfather. Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez recorded it at Easy Eye Sound Studios in Nashville. Estevan plays nylon guitar throughout the record, while Alejandro incorporates the charango, a traditional South American instrument. The first single, Canto Andino, features a video filmed in the Andes that reflects the region's shifting weather patterns. The project continues the duo's approach of letting guitars convey melody and emotion without vocals. It follows their previous releases El Bueno y el Malo and Sonido Cósmico on the Easy Eye Sound label.
