An Illinois woman has been charged with hiding the death of her elderly neighbor for over three years after allegedly finding the body and continuing to access the victim's financial accounts.
Gena English-Wheat, 59, was charged with concealment of a death and arrested on February 22 after police discovered the mummified remains of 86-year-old Lillie Prindle in her Springfield home. Officers conducted a welfare check on November 6, 2025, following concerns from Prindle's family and found the body in a living room chair covered with blankets. Investigators determined Prindle had died around August 2022, based on unchanged items like expired food and a calendar from that year in the residence.
