Indonesia's Traffic Corps (Korlantas) Polri has banned three-axle vehicles from using toll roads during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 period. The policy follows a Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) and cross-agency coordination. The main focus is on public safety and smooth travel.
Indonesia's Traffic Corps (Korlantas) Polri has reiterated the ban on three-axle vehicles using toll roads during the 2025-2026 Nataru Operation. The measure stems from a Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) and evaluations coordinated with the Minister of Transportation and related agencies.
"In the joint analysis and evaluation, in line with the Minister of Transportation's directives and the SKB agreement, three-axle vehicles are prohibited from toll roads. For arterial routes, timings are also regulated, from 5:00 PM to morning," stated Korlantas Chief Irjen Pol. Agus Suryonugroho in Jakarta on Saturday (December 27, 2025).
Agus urged goods transport business owners and drivers to comply. Korlantas will enforce strictly against violations, including issuing tickets. "We will take firm action, including ticketing, as the priority is humanitarian activities, safety, and smooth travel for people observing Christmas, New Year, and holidays," he emphasized.
Nataru Operation evaluations show positive trends, with a 23.23 percent drop in traffic accident fatalities. This decline provides a foundation for police to enhance services in the remaining period. Additionally, the outbound flow has proceeded smoothly, with 201,000 vehicles leaving Jakarta for Sumatra and Trans Java, reaching 49 percent of projections.
Korlantas has prepared security strategies for the return flow on toll roads, arterial routes, crossings, and tourist areas. "Return flow security strategies are ready to ensure public travel remains safe, orderly, and smooth," Agus said.
