Williams team principal James Vowles has said the team's upgrades for the British Grand Prix fell short of expectations. The performance at Silverstone also revealed additional areas of concern for the squad.
Vowles made the comments in the latest episode of The Vowles Verdict. He noted the team worked day and night to prepare the parts but saw only partial gains.
"In Silverstone, we worked diligently, day and night to bring performance to the car," Vowles said. "I think in part it helped, but nowhere near to the level we needed or perhaps even should have done."
The upgrades created new unknowns for the team to address. Williams sits eighth in the Constructors' Championship with 11 points after nine rounds, while drivers Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon are 15th and 16th with six and five points.
The team will continue work on the car ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix scheduled for 17-19 July.
