Jenson Button has stated that the current Formula 1 cars suit Lewis Hamilton's driving style more than his previous Mercedes machinery, contributing to the seven-time champion's improved results at Ferrari.
Button made the remarks during an appearance on the Sky Sports F1 Show. He noted that Hamilton secured third place at the Chinese Grand Prix for his first podium as a Ferrari driver, followed by second-place finishes at the Canadian and Monaco Grands Prix and a maiden win for the team at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
Hamilton joined Ferrari at the start of 2025 after 12 years with Mercedes. Button acknowledged that the driver has become more comfortable with the team but emphasized the car's role over team integration.
"The car suits his style more. It's a Formula 1 car he's used to driving in terms of feel," Button said. He added that the latest regulations have returned to a more natural car feel compared to recent seasons.
