Klingbeil drøfter kapitalmarkedsunion med Macron i Paris

Den tyske finansminister Lars Klingbeil mødtes med den franske præsident Emmanuel Macron i Paris for at drøfte oprettelsen af en europæisk kapitalmarkedsunion. Samtalen, der varede en time, fandt sted i forbindelse med G7-finansministermødet.

Klingbeil udtalte, at han og den franske finansminister Roland Lescure nu har til hensigt at fremme projektet, som har været planlagt i årtier. Begge parter var enige om, at tysk-fransk samarbejde er afgørende for at styrke Europa.

Ministeren understregede, at et forenet kapitalmarked er nødvendigt for bedre at kunne konkurrere med USA og Kina. Han opfordrede desuden til mere europæisk patriotisme for at forsvare interesser i handelskonflikter.

Allerede i februar havde Klingbeil dannet en gruppe af frontløbere i det såkaldte E6-format sammen med kolleger fra Frankrig, Italien, Polen, Spanien og Holland. De seks lande har til hensigt at fremme foreningen af deres finansielle markeder i fællesskab.
