The New York Knicks overcame a 14-point third-quarter deficit to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 105-95 in Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Wednesday night at Frost Bank Center.
Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 30 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter. Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points, 12 rebounds and four assists while anchoring the defense against Victor Wembanyama. Josh Hart recorded 15 rebounds, six assists and four steals with only three points scored, matching a rare statistical line last achieved by Larry Bird in the Finals. The Knicks improved to 12-0 in the postseason with the victory. A fan was banned for life from NBA arenas after running onto the court in the third quarter to attempt a selfie with Wembanyama. A second fan also received a lifetime ban for his role in the incident.
