The US Department of Labor has launched a new Center for Faith website to help Americans facing religious discrimination in the workplace. The resource provides guidance on filing complaints and other support. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer highlighted the Trump administration's commitment to religious freedom.
On Thursday, the Department of Labor introduced its Center for Faith, a website aimed at assisting individuals experiencing religious discrimination at work. The site offers resources such as instructions for filing complaints and details on support programs. It includes an interactive map that outlines state-level and federal options for those who believe they have faced such discrimination, along with filing guidance. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer stated to The Daily Wire: “250 years ago, our nation was founded on the fundamental idea of liberty for all, including the right to religious freedom. The Trump administration is committed to upholding this core principle.” She added: “That’s why the Labor Department’s Center for Faith launched a new website, which provides clear assistance for anyone who has faced religious discrimination in the workplace.” The initiative follows an executive order by President Donald Trump that established a White House Office of Faith and directed federal agencies to expand resources for religious Americans. The website also explains how religious groups can apply for Department of Labor grants and collaborate on programs tackling poverty, substance use recovery, and community revitalization. It states: “This guidance reflects the Administration’s commitment to protecting religious liberty, promoting economic opportunities, and fostering partnerships that build upon the documented successes of faith groups in serving Americans in need.” Additionally, last year the Department welcomed back faith-based organizations to the federal grant process after they had been sidelined under President Joe Biden in favor of DEI-focused groups. The site provides guidance for smaller faith-based employers on retirement plans, noting: “As you work to select and offer a retirement plan for your employees, you may face certain decision points that secular employers do not.”
