Globo launched the novela A Nobreza do Amor at a party on Ilha Fiscal in Rio de Janeiro on the night of March 9, 2026. The production, set in a fictional African kingdom, emphasizes representativity with a majority black cast. Rita Batista and Lázaro Ramos shared details about their roles and careers in an interview with columnist Fábia Oliveira.
The launch party for the novela A Nobreza do Amor took place on Ilha Fiscal in Rio de Janeiro, gathering the cast and guests to present the new Globo six o'clock soap opera. The story is set in a fictional African kingdom, exploring power struggles, family conflicts, romance, and ambition.
Rita Batista, debuting as an actress after 22 years as a presenter, plays Ladisa, a strong character who fights against injustices and the whims of King Jendal. "My first novela, a gift. She is strong, doesn't laugh much, has little laughter, but fights against injustices," Rita said. She denied rumors that she left the É de Casa program to make room for Ticiane Pinheiro, stating that the departure is solely due to her new work in drama. "I left, but not to make space. I left to continue in the same… You want to unemployed me anyway, but I'm an employee," she joked. Rita praised Ticiane's arrival at Globo, highlighting her performance on Domingão com Huck.
Lázaro Ramos plays Jendal, his first major TV villain. "I hope to be hated, that's the character's function," the actor commented, preparing for public reactions, such as an airport incident where a lady called him "malvadão." He reacted with good humor to a viral Carnival video in which singer Iza kissed Taís Araújo, leaving him in the "vácuo." "Of course not! Imagine, Iza is our daughter, part of the family. It was just the rush of the revelry," he said.
Both highlighted the novela's representativity, with a majority black cast. "The public will fall in love because we've never shown this side of black people, this noble side," Rita stated. Lázaro added that the production fulfills a dream by portraying African cultural richness with dignity. Lázaro also mentioned his expectation of accompanying Wagner Moura to the 2026 Oscars, depending on the filming schedule.
