Leeds United are in talks with Manchester City to sign goalkeeper James Trafford. The 23-year-old England international prefers a move to Elland Road. The discussions follow Karl Darlow's free transfer departure to Manchester United.
Leeds remain in the market for a new first-choice goalkeeper. They have Lucas Perri and Alex Cairns on their books but seek further reinforcement ahead of the new season.
Trafford returned to Manchester City from Burnley last summer. He made 17 appearances during the 2025-26 campaign and featured as the team won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
Newcastle United had retained interest after last summer's attempts to sign him. Reports indicate their pursuit has cooled, with the club exploring options including Zion Suzuki and Carl Rushworth and already signing Ewen Jaouen.
