Marin Cilic has parted ways with his coach Vilim Visak after seven years together on the ATP Tour. The split follows a series of coaching changes among top players following this year's Wimbledon.
Cilic announced the decision in an emotional Instagram post on July 22. He described Visak as a childhood friend and neighbor with whom he had reconnected professionally in 2020.
The pair achieved three ATP titles and reached the Roland Garros semifinals in 2022 during their time working together. Cilic highlighted these moments and thanked Visak for support through injuries that limited his play in 2023 and 2024.
Visak replied to the post with a message wishing Cilic well. The announcement comes amid other recent coaching separations on the tour involving players such as Felix Auger-Aliassime and Daniil Medvedev.
