Novak Djokovic offered support to Zachary Svajda after the American's emotional tribute to his late father following a third-round victory at the French Open. Svajda defeated Francisco Cerundolo in five sets to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time.
Svajda, ranked No. 85, beat No. 25 seed Cerundolo 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3 on Court 14 on Saturday. The 23-year-old dedicated the result to his father Tom, a former coach who died in October 2025 after battling colon cancer. In an Instagram post, Svajda wrote, “Happy Birthday Dad ❤️I know you’re watching from above 🙏🏼.”
