Mark Briscoe sets steel cage main event for Forbidden Door

Mark Briscoe has arranged a six-on-six tag team steel cage match to headline AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 28. The announcement came during the June 11 episode of AEW Dynamite after Briscoe defeated PAC.

Briscoe called out AEW World Champion MJF, who responded by sending Jay Lethal, Lee Johnson, and Blake Christian to attack him. The Conglomeration intervened, allowing Briscoe to reveal that Tony Khan had approved the stipulation. If Briscoe's team wins the cage match, he earns a guaranteed title shot against MJF. Briscoe will captain one side with The Conglomeration, while MJF leads the opposing team. This marks the second consecutive year a multi-man steel cage match has closed Forbidden Door. Team members for both sides remain to be announced.
