Mexico and the United States ended the first round of negotiations to review the T-MEC, focused on automotive origin rules and issues of steel and aluminum.
The talks took place on May 28 and 29 in Mexico City. The Ministry of Economy reported a positive outcome and highlighted a constructive dialogue between the delegations.
The parties advanced on priority issues for North American productive integration. Mexico stressed that the treaty's strength lies in regional value chains.
The schedule for upcoming meetings was confirmed. The second round will take place on June 16 and 17 in Washington D.C., while the third will be held during the week of July 20 in Mexico City.
