MLB releases 2027 schedule with earliest Opening Day

Major League Baseball announced its 2027 regular-season schedule on Thursday. The campaign opens March 24 with a game streamed on Netflix.

The 2027 season begins Wednesday, March 24, when two teams to be determined face off in an Opening Night game on Netflix. Traditional Opening Day follows on Thursday, March 25, with 14 games involving all but those two clubs.

The first full slate for all 30 teams is set for Saturday, March 27. Full-slate days also include Jackie Robinson Day on April 15, Memorial Day on May 31, Lou Gehrig Day on June 2, Independence Day on July 4, Labor Day on Sept. 6 and Roberto Clemente Day on Sept. 15.

The 97th All-Star Game will be played at Wrigley Field on Tuesday, July 13, with the Home Run Derby the prior day on Netflix. The second half starts July 15 on ESPN as part of Rivalry Weekend. The regular season concludes Sunday, Sept. 26.

MLB Opening Day 2027, CBA pending, would be March 24 (for the earliest in history excluding special/international openers) with a TBD game on Netflix. Seems like it gives them an extra week assuming it goes down to the wire. ASG at Wrigley would be July 13.
