Efter 2-1-sejren over USA besøgte DFB-spillerne natklubben Tao i det centrale Chicago natten til søndag. Mere end to tredjedele af VM-truppen, herunder anfører Joshua Kimmich og Nick Woltemade, mødtes der til en fest med DJ Snake. Nagelsmann sagde efter kampen: “Generelt har drengene fri, de kan gøre, hvad de vil. Det er en dejlig by, man kan opleve noget der. Derefter er der fuldt fokus på turneringen.” Den 38-årige understregede den efterfølgende flytning til træningslejren. Mandag rejste holdet videre til Winston-Salem i North Carolina. Her skal truppen bo på Graylyn Estate Hotel frem til VM-åbningskampen mod Curaçao den 14. juni.
