Former ATP pro Greg Rusedski has expressed doubts about Nick Kyrgios receiving a main draw wildcard for Wimbledon. The comments follow Kyrgios' recent return to singles action after months sidelined by injury.
Rusedski said on his podcast that he is not entirely convinced Kyrgios deserves a main draw invitation. He suggested a qualifying spot would be more appropriate, noting the difference between best-of-three and best-of-five set matches.
Kyrgios returned to the court last week with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Corentin Moutet at the Stuttgart Open. Persistent knee and wrist issues have limited his play since 2022, including four knee surgeries and a torn wrist ligament.
Wimbledon announced its initial men's singles wildcards on Tuesday, and Kyrgios was not included. He has received a doubles wildcard to partner Alexander Bublik.
