Nunzia EyeWear: sunglasses brand by Alessandra Rojo de la Vega's sister

Nunzia Rojo de la Vega, sister of Cuauhtémoc mayor Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, launched Nunzia EyeWear, a line of sports and sunglasses blending fashion and functionality. The brand emerged from a spontaneous idea and focuses on durable materials with UV protection. Products are available online and at a Polanco store, with prices starting at 399 pesos.

Alessandra Rojo de la Vega's family includes entrepreneurs and athletes, such as her sister Nunzia, who runs three companies focused on wellness and beauty. Among them stands out Nunzia EyeWear, offering sports and sunglasses in varied designs, from classic aviators to modern eclipse styles.

The company website states, “Nunzia EyeWear represents a new generation of optical design, where fashion and functionality meet.” In the podcast ¿Cómo le hago?, Nunzia described her modest upbringing despite her father Martín Rojo de la Vega's discreet business profile. “My dad was 20 when I was born, so it was tough; they didn't have time to finish school. Thank God we had a good education, but no big vacations, no luxuries, very normal. We lived very frugally,” she shared.

From a young age, Nunzia worked to cover her expenses: “I want my money, I don't want to struggle, I want to pay for my things and since my dad couldn't give me certain things, I worked.” Inspired by her family's athletic focus—including her brother, ex-footballer Gabriel Rojo de la Vega—she also founded a supplements brand and Piú Essentials for soaps and skincare.

Nunzia EyeWear started as an impromptu business opportunity: “I saw it as a business chance and said: ‘I'll try,’ and playing around with trying it out, it worked.” The lenses use polycarbonate and acetate for lightness and durability, with UV400 protection. Models include tinted, square, round, and sports options for running or cycling. Prices range from 399 to 599 pesos, plus shipping (1-2 days). The physical store is at Avenida Horacio 203, Polanco, inside Innovasport.

This success encouraged Nunzia to venture without fears, expanding her family portfolio.
