Officers from Bareskrim Polri seized a truck containing logistic packages suspected of illegal phone imports in Sidoarjo, East Java. The seizure develops a prior case uncovered in Jakarta. Dir Tipideksus Brig. Gen. Police Ade Safri Simanjuntak stated that the investigation continues.
Investigators from Bareskrim Polri conducted a search at a shophouse owned by PT TSL in Sidoarjo on Tuesday (21/4/2026). They seized one expedition truck filled with logistic packages. Brig. Gen. Police Ade Safri Simanjuntak, Director of Special Economic Crimes (Dirtipideksus) at Bareskrim Polri, confirmed this as a development of the illegal phone import case from Jakarta.
"This is a development from the Jakarta case, where two individuals have been named suspects, namely DCP alias P and SJ," said Ade Safri Simanjuntak on Wednesday (22/4/2026). He added that the contents of the truck packages are still under examination for investigative purposes. PT TSL is described as the parent company operating shell firms for imports via air cargo at Juanda International Airport.
The initial Jakarta case involved raids on six locations, including warehouses and offices. Officers seized 56,557 iPhone units worth Rp225.2 billion, 1,625 Android phones worth Rp5.38 billion, and 18,574 phone accessories totaling Rp235.08 billion. Additionally, baby clothes and children's toys not meeting Indonesian National Standards (SNI) were found sold on e-commerce platforms.
Ade Safri Simanjuntak emphasized the possibility of additional suspects and that the Sidoarjo case development is ongoing.
